We were invited to attend the Laurel DeWitt Fall/Winter 2014 Collection on February 6th. I attended the show with Cliché 's Beauty Director Liz who met me at the venue. I met Liz last year at one of our first fashion show events for Cliché Magazine. We sat in the second row and sipped on some Skinny Girl Sparkling Water that was given out. I really like how the new Beyoncé album was the soundtrack for the show, it added to the powerful woman vibe of the night. Laurel DeWitt is a couture designer that has taken chains to the next level. It was very interesting to see how draped chains can be used as an outfit instead of only accessories. One special guest that walked in DeWitt's show was Kasseem Dean Jr., the son of rapper Swizz Beatz and his ex-wife Mashonda. Swizz sat front row with son Egypt on his lap. Kasseem Dean Jr. did a great job for his first fashion show and it was really adorable watching Egypt wave at his older brother on the catwalk.
After the show we were able to go upstairs and check out where the models got ready. We spoke with Laurel DeWitt who was very kind, she definitely seemed relieved and happy with the outcome of the show. We also met Swizz Beatz who was nice enough to take a picture with me.
After the show I headed to The London NYC to meet up with a friend for a few drinks. The London NYC is the #1 preferred hotel of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and is a beautiful hotel and bar. We couldn't decide over margaritas or wine, so we ordered both.
